Refund Policy


Requests for refunds or exchanges must be accompanied with a cash register receipt or a department charge
form. A debit or credit card slip will not substitute as a receipt. Refunds will be issued based on the original
method of payment. Charge refunds must be accompanied by the credit card AND original charge slip. In all
cases ORIGINAL RECEIPT MUST BE SHOWN.
WARNING: NO RECEIPT - NO REFUND!!!

BOOKS

REFERENCE Books, Dictionaries and General Interest Books are not returnable.
TEXTBOOKS may be returned within 3 weeks from the start of semester for which the texts were purchased.
Texts bought after that time are not returnable for exchange or refund.
For a refund or exchange, texts must be:
a) accompanied by the original cash register receipt
b) in the original packaging and unopened. Packages that have "Not Returnable if Opened" or similar
statement will not be accepted for refund or exchange if they have been opened. This is a policy set by
the Publishers and there are no exceptions.
c) in original, new condition. They cannot be marked, used in class or exams, or damaged in any way that
may render the text non-returnable to the publisher.
d) GENERAL STUDIES TEXTS will be considered for refund or exchange after faculty have been
consulted to ensure there was no opportunity to study the book in class or prepare assignments from it.
e) a restocking charge may be applied.

SUPPLIES

Supplies may be returned within 3 weeks of semester start. Supplies bought after that time may be returned
within 5 days of purchase. In both cases they must not be used in any way. The original cash register receipt is
required and items must be in mint condition.
Consumable supplies are not returnable. Examples of consumable supplies are markers, pens, paint, ink,
notebooks, coil bound notebooks, chemistry table sheets, chart paper, forms, etc. No refunds for prepackaged
items where packaging is altered in any way.
Calculators and other electronic devices may be exchanged only for equal value if returned in new and original
condition, i.e. packaging intact. Consistent with health and hygienic practices, certain products are not
returnable, i.e. headsets, stethoscopes, earplugs, safety goggles, etc.

CLOTHING, SOFT GOODS AND GIFTWARE
Clothing, softgoods (bags, portfolios, etc.), and giftware may be returned within 3 weeks of semester start.
Goods bought after that time may be returned within 5 days of purchase. The original cash register receipt is
required and items must be in their original new condition. No refunds for prepackaged items where packaging
is altered in any way. Consistent with health and hygienic practices, clothing that has been worn or washed
cannot be returned for refund or exchange.

ON-LINE ORDERS AND GOODS SHIPPED OUT
Goods that are ordered on-line or by phone and shipped out may be returned in person to the store for
merchandise credit following the guidelines herein. If the merchandise is shipped back it must be sent pre-paid
at your expense within 2 weeks of receipt, in mint condition and un-used. If courses are cancelled all attempts
will be made to ensure full credit for merchandise purchased.

NON-RETURNABLE PRODUCTS
In addition to some items described above, the following items are not returnable.
a) any item bought on sale, or marked "final sale"
b) food items, personalized items e.g. name tags, shirts, etc.
c) items purchased for short term courses, e.g. weekend, one day, one night, etc.
d) special orders

DEFECTIVE ITEMS

Defective items will be exchanged or, at the discretion of the Store staff, refunded within 3 weeks of purchase.
All efforts will be made to satisfy a reasonable request.

A RESTOCKING CHARGE may be assessed to cover extra costs incurred to service returned and exchanged
merchandise.

METHOD OF REFUND

Refunds will be issued by the same method as the original purchase, i.e. debit card, credit card, cash.

THE BOOKSTORE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ACCEPT OR REFUSE ANY RETURN, REFUND,
EXCHANGE, OR BUYBACK.
